THIS WEEK'S SERVICE
"Experiencing the Mystery""
Sunday, January 24, 2021
11:00am on Zoom
Presented by Melanie Stinson & Megan Rancier
What is the (Great) Mystery? How might we participate in it, recognize it, or enlarge our experience of it? Readings and PowerPoint visuals assembled by Megan Rancier will address these questions, and Melanie Stinson will discuss author, musician, university professor, psychotherapist and former monk Thomas Moore's ideas about how we might create a personal spirituality embracing the Mystery within a secular world. Join us this week to discover whether there is more to human life than meets the eye.

Last week we celebrated MLK Day in RE! The younger group (K-4th) read Enough! 20 Protestors that Changed America by Emily Easton. Then, we make a mobile craft about our dreams for ourselves, our community, and our world. The older group (5th-7th) took a virtual field trip to the National Museum of African American History and Culture. We visited the special exhibit about MLK's legacy, learned why the holiday was turned into a service holiday, and learned about King's final project: The Poor People's Campaign and life at Insurrection City.
Since 2009, MVUUC has been designated an LGBTQ Welcoming Congregation by the Unitarian Universalist Association. We have made a commitment to opening our doors and welcoming people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
