General Camp Info

Enter Camp Emberwood and be awed by the ancient all-knowing Emberwood tree, the beauty of Silverwood Forest, and the magic of elves and other nature creatures

Previous campers will join their houses and the ancient Emberwood will place new campers in their houses. 

This year we'll enjoy circus related classes and our featured group is the Bird's Eye View Circus! 
 

Other activities include: 

- Candy Shop 

- Quadball (practice, games, championship)

- Tie-Dye 

- Giant waterslide!

- Labyrinth scavenger hunt (theme related to the year)

- Movies

- Board Game Room

- Tent camping or inside sleepover (optional)

- Closing Ceremony including awarding House Cup!

- End of camp potluck with families

 

Food:

All food and snacks are provided! 

 

Camping Overnight and Family Participation (optional):

All campers are invited to stay overnight on Saturday (optional). They may bring a tent to sleep in or they may stay in the MVUUC building with a sleeping bag. Parents/guardians are welcome and encouraged to camp overnight with their campers. Campers under 10 are required to have a parent with them if they are tent camping.  

Campers that do not sleepover may return Sunday morning. 

 

Families are welcome to participate in any part of camp and volunteers are always needed.

Families are especially invited to join us on Sunday at 11am for a circus performance then Quadball Championships followed by closing ceremony and potluck!

 

Cost:

$105 (covers t-shirt, all activities, meals/snacks, teachers, paypal...)

Scholarships available- indicate on registration.

 

Age:

Camp is for campers 5 years +. However, exceptions may be made, contact Noel.

Classes are held with age-matched peers.

Older campers are encouraged to be Prefects. 

 

Prefect Role:

Older campers have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, get work/volunteer experience, and earn some house points! Prefects help with things like running the candy shop, filling positions in quadball, assisting teachers etc.

*Although our camp has always been LGBTQIA+ affirming and different from the Harry Potter books, we felt it was best to further distance ourselves from the franchise due to the continued vocal transphobic views of the author which MVUUC does not support.
