Last Sunday, we shared the storybasket version of the book, "And Tango Makes Three" (which is a true story!). After the story we talked about what our own families look like, and some of the kids made family portraits.
Taking it Home:
Check out other books about family diversity such as Todd Parr's "The Family Book, " Linda de Haan's "King and King," or Leslea Newman's "Mommy, Mama, and Me."
For older kids, discuss what kinds of barriers same-sex families and/or single parents may face, such as prejudice, difficulty conceiving/forming families, and legal barriers.
Ask yourselves and your kids what our UU principles say about family diversity. How will you support family diversity?
